Border Ireland has now entered its second phase and a key part of this will be the development of an online media centre which will monitor North/South and cross-border issues from both the local and island-wide perspectives.
We are currently monitoring national (Irish Times, Irish Independent, Irish Examiner, Belfast Telegraph, Irish News, the Newsletter) and regional papers (Northern Standard, Ulster Gazette, Derry Journal, Donegal Democrat, Newry Reporter and Dundalk Argus) from both jurisdictions, to identify news stories with practical cross-border relevance.
We are also monitoring press releases from North-South Implementation bodies and government departments and agencies, North and South.
We are 'clipping' these stories, linking them to information on practical cross-border activities and will shortly display them on the Border Ireland website. This will help us highlight the policy issues and implementation activities which are making the news in order to keep people aware of the latest developments in North/South and cross-border co-operation as they happen.
