Border Ireland - Phase I
Last saved: 26 January 2009
The Border Ireland project is designed to establish an electronic information signposting service to direct people to existing points of cross-border information in the public domain. The directory will act as a one-stop shop for organisations and individuals providing, for the first time, an electronic gateway to the full range of cross-border research material, publications and funding opportunities available in Ireland, North and South. In addition, the service will facilitate the establishment of long-term cross-border relationships for the future. Border Ireland provides information in education, health, agriculture, transport, environment, tourism, economic development, arts and culture, sport, community development, and the voluntary sector. The main focus is on the outputs and publications produced since 1990. By November 2005 Border Ireland has documented over 3000 cross-border activities involving 3765 contacts (individuals and organisations) and 20 different sources of funding.
